DVD Case Types
Standard and Single Disc Cases
Keep Case: The most common plastic DVD case, usually black, white or clear, with a clear plastic outer sleeve for cover art.
Slim Case (Slimline): Half the thickness of a standard keep case, designed to save shelf space.
Super Jewel Box: A premium, hard-plastic case often used for music DVDs or special editions, resembling a thick CD jewel case.
Digipak: A cardboard fold-out case that includes a glued-in plastic tray (or hub) to hold the disc.
Multi-Disc and Special Edition Cases
Multi-Disc Keep Case: A thicker standard-style case that holds two or more discs using hinged trays or overlapping hubs.
SteelBook: A durable, collectible metal case with high-definition printed artwork.
Mediabook: A hardcover book format that contains pages with text and photos alongside built-in disc holders.
Box Set / Slipcase: A cardboard sleeve or outer box that holds multiple individual DVD cases together.
Eco and Specialty Cases
Eco-Case: A standard-style plastic case with cutouts or a mesh pattern to use less plastic during manufacturing.
Snap Case (Gatefold): An older style made of cardboard with a plastic snap closure, widely used by Warner Bros. in the early 2000s.
Paper / Tyvek Sleeve: A simple, lightweight envelope made of paper or plastic, often used for promotional discs or software.
