Plot Summary: Ali, a small-town girl with a big voice, escapes hardship and an uncertain future in her hometown and heads to Los Angeles. She lands a job at The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue led by Tess, a former dancer. Ali vows to perform there and, with the help of a sharp-witted stage manager and a gender-bending host, she makes the leap from bar to stage, helping restore the club's former glory.
