Maybe I'll Come Home in the Spring (1971)

Plot: Disillusioned by the chaotic lifestyle of the late-1960s counterculture movement, Denise Miller decides to flee the drug-fueled hippie scene of San Francisco and return to her affluent suburban home. Expecting comfort and understanding, she instead encounters her highly conservative parents, who are desperate to sweep her disappearance under the rug and preserve their pristine social image. Caught between the friction of her parents' hypocritical expectations and her younger sister's naive fascination with running away, Denise must navigate the painful generational divide of a changing America while figuring out if she can ever truly go home again.
