What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)

Plot: In the tiny, dead-end town of Endora, Iowa, Gilbert Grape spends his days trapped by an overwhelming mountain of family responsibilities. He works at a failing grocery store while struggling to care for his housebound, 500-pound mother and protect his sweet but unpredictable teenage brother, Arnie, who has a developmental disability. Gilbert's monotonous life is pushed to its limits until a free-spirited traveler named Becky strand-updates in town with her grandmother. Her warmth and outsider perspective challenge Gilbert to look beyond his obligations, forcing him to decide if he can ever pursue his own happiness without tearing his family apart.
